Biofuels are made from renewable organic materials or biomass that can be used as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels and produce less particulate matter.

The USCEI Biofuel project seeks to improve the combustion behavior of biofuels and evaluate the economic and environmental impacts of its cultivation, production, and consumption.

By exploring biofuels combustion properties, the USCEI is able to effectively improve engine efficiency and significantly reduce its harmful emissions. Researchers are also working on solutions for reducing the direct and indirect costs of various biofuel goods and services in order to implement a more economically sustainable energy plan for the future.

  • Evaluate the combustion behavior of biofuel engines and reduce their harmful emissions.
  • Evaluate the economic and environmental impacts of biofuel cultivation, production, and consumption.
