Energy Systems and Infrastructure

One of the main roles of the USCEI is evaluating the energy systems impact on policy, society, and the environment while integrating research activities across all disciplines. Energy is a complicated set of industries, infrastructures, and uses- understanding these complexities in the multitude of the systems and coming up with solutions to improving the efficiency of the system will be vital for our future.

The USCEI is addressing the problems inherent in the complex nature of our energy systems by applying information technologies to the energy problems, understanding consumer behavior, testing and demonstrating smart grid technologies, assessing impacts on underserved populations, improving transportation efficiency, and developing spatial analysis tools.
