Conventional Energy
Conventional energy (oil, coal, and natural gas) will continue to be most prominent source of energy used for the foreseeable future. Given the concerns about the environmental impact and security issues around fossil fuels, it is imperative to look for ways to make better use of these resources.
The USCEI has three main areas of research in conventional energy
- Improve the efficiency of using fossil fuels through work in combustion efficiency.
- Improve the efficiency of extracting resources which we do through the CiSoft smart oilfields program.
- Look for ways to reduce impacts, which is the work of the loker Hydrocarbon Institute.
